If you're looking for a quick way to get a kennel floor down, maybe you're just after temporary flooring, or you want something that you can take with you when you travel, well instant kennel flooring is probably something you might want to look into.
There are different types of instant kennel flooring, but one sort that I've used inside of temporary dog kennels or cages, is the type that is made from heavy duty synthetic fibers. This makes it strong enough and durable enough for any dog pen, yet it is lightweight, easy to work with, move about and put down on the ground.
It can be laid over any drainable surface such as gravel, grass, or sand. Grommets are placed in the instant flooring at the corner, and you simply hammer a spike through the grommet to attach the instant flooring securely to the ground.
I personally feel that this type of flooring is great for a more temporary pen or kennel, although it does seem to stand up to pretty rugged use. It's also very easy to clean, you just hose it off or disinfect it when necessary. The porous nature of the material allows all moisture and liquid to soak through to the material--gravel or sand, or whatever is placed underneath the kennel. Definitely a worthwhile investment if you intend to travel or need to put up a temporary pen somewhere outside.
